I think an independant, non event running Forum is a good idea, sorry to hear you've knocked it on the head mate. Maybe the community isn't big enough yet?
There, Josh has said it. Because CiA run games and run the forum we are not independent. This forum is entirely site independent, all have free and unrestricted access.
OK, CiA do put emphasis on their games but that is because:
a) we pay for it
b) we are good at marketing, Josh/F&O are crap
c) if we didn't run games then none of this would be possible
Josh peddles his events on our forum for free yet doesn't even mention CiA games of his forum. A very one sided stance - all take, no give.
Josh... whether you like it (or him) or not is right though... this isn't an independent forum because we run games as well...
The reason why they're not as good at marketing is different between the two groups, but basically comes down to not really being that interested in WWII themselves and really just in the cash...
Oh... BTW, Dave... Justin is planning a nam game for early/mid May 2009.

(Josh attempted a big Vietnam game and abandoned it with no takers, I'm sure he had ads in AI mag too! BTW Josh's forum is littered with abandoned and cancelled games - never seen anything like it!)
I was making the distinction between site independence and game running independence. Of course Josh wants competitors out of the picture, he feels we are pinching his business.
CIA and come to that PBI games are polar opposites of Josh's 'experiences'.
Expect some repositioning on CiA's part in the coming days - we really need to emphasis what we are about, it's clearly a point that is getting overlooked esp. with newcomers. I'm quite sure some are thinking 'who do they think they are'. Well, we need to tell them! We do have the best interests of WW2 airsoft at heart. (When I say 'we' I'm including PBI as the underlying policy is the same, so I'm not describing CiA vs everyone else...)
Dave, if you're including PBI in the release then please can you run it past me and Gadge so we can comment if needed... ta! 
Oh... I got the impression that the nam game was actually going to be organised by some players rather than Justin himself... at least he mentioned 2 names I didn't recognise...
We won't include PBI in further info, I wouldn't be so presumptuous, I just wanted you to know that as I kept using the word 'we' I wasn't counting PBI as being one of 'them'.

Guys I'm a little confused here, are we talking about my review of 'Grange Farm Airsoft' or 'The Grange' or are the two in some way connected and I'd not realised?

They are very different beasts.
Grange Farm being about 30 miles from the Grange and a totally seperate entity.
But good for them if the review was theirs.
Just have to make sure ours is as good when we get reviewed.

AI reviewed both your D-Day and Joint CiA Eagle has landed game.
I did cover our PBI Varsity game in March
Since then I've reviewed an Open Day at Grange farm (which i had nothing to do with organising, i just played there and Op Huskey which again i was just a customer at and had nothing to do with organising and wasn't even a side leader.
If I attend a Gunman Event/Open Day/ Site and a review is allowed then it will get as impartial a review as any other game.
I'm just not sure what you're implying.

Yep guilty too .
At the time I had hoped he would bring new players, and perhaps take a lead from us in how to put on WW2 games, put on large games we'd never be able to do ...& to be fair I thought DDay was not a bad do, not for the quality of it , but just the whole beach experience. At the end of the day though the bloke has showed how shallow he is, which is a shame . We do ...er ..wrangle a lot as to his continued presence on this board.... the voices of moderation and inclusiveness generally win .
